Vascular Access Nurse Consultant - PICC RN VIC the PICC (VTP) is a specialized healthcare provider focused on vascular access consulting services to acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and home healthcare. We provide vascular access device insertion services, post access support services including declotting, line removal, port access and venous access troubleshooting; as well as continuing education, precepting and other educational support to clinical team members and customers. As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will work collaboratively with our customer’s clinical team to resolve venous access issues, facilitating the treatment objectives of the treating physician. You may work inside or outside the hospital setting, observing different protocols and patient challenges. Key Responsibilities Place PICCs, midlines and peripheral IVs with ultrasound and ECG confirmation. Assist with management of PICCs and Vascular Access devices. Provide a wide range of vascular access support services (e.g., port access, line removal, declotting). Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines and other CVADs. Travel to customer facilities and fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated (four days per week, including weekends, and holiday rotation). Qualifications Registered Nurse with current license. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in acute care (preferred). Experience with a variety of VAD placements using ultrasound. Current BLS certification. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Ability to work independently. Must possess a smartphone and reliable transportation for patient site visits. Love for vascular access.
