Job Description MACHINE BUILDER/ASSEMBLER III Position Type: Temp to Hire
Position Salary: $20.00-$23.00/hour
Position Hours : 1st Shift, 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday
Position Location: Waterville, Ohio
Our client in Waterville, OH, is seeking
Machine Builders/Assemblers to construct custom thermal processing (heat treat) equipment used by manufacturers. This is
not an assembly-line or automated environment - each machine is built from scratch through a
hands-on, labor-intensive process .
The Assembler III will work independently in completing the company's manufacturing related assignments in minor fabrication, piping, mechanical assembly, and/or electrical wiring processes. They should be able to provide training for other assemblers in specific skills or tasks when assigned by the plant manager. They should be able to perform jobsite installations and/or repairs working as part of a field team or a work project leader. They should also have proficient skills in specific discipline(s) such that he can be categorized as a SCI key craftsman in that discipline.
Qualifications - Typically, a high school graduate.
- Some level of continuing education that is related to is recommended.
- Strong mechanical ability.
- Employee is responsible for planning and carrying out tasks or work.
- independently up to final review and decisions.
- May direct the work of other others to fabricate and assemble products by using
drawings, sketches, and verbal direction.
- Must perform the role of trainer in specific discipline(s).
Responsibilities and Duties (The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities. It is not meant to serve as
an all-inclusive list. This position is required to perform other duties and responsibilities
as assigned.)
- Master the use of hand and power tools.
- Work may require extensive periods of standing, bending, stretching, lifting, and
- reaching.
- Be proficient in welding processes necessary for SCI manufacturing; read electrical prints & layouts, read piping prints (two-lined & isometric); read mechanical prints; read and understand suppliers' instructions.
- Employees use initiative in conducting recurring assignments to fabricate and assemble products by using drawings, sketches, and verbal direction
- Must be proficient in some forms of process and tack welding; basic electrical skills including layout and mount conduit and pull & terminate wire; layout, cut & thread, and mount piping systems; set and align motors, pumps, other mechanical components etc.; lay out, set, level & align furnace drive systems.
- Employees will be required to use overhead cranes and fork trucks to set up and/or move equipment. Will assist in loading and unloading equipment.
- Perform jobsite installations as part of a field team and as a team leader.
- Assist in the training of less skilled or less experienced mechanics as directed by plant management.
- Perform other duties and functions as required.
