This job posting is for a government contract at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio, TX. We are posting strictly for the purpose of contract incumbent onboarding. Current employees of DHA Contract at BAMC must apply for onboarding. All hiring and onboarding is done electronically online.

Job Summary:

Performs all phases of routine floor care and other duties as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs special cleaning projects as well as daily cleaning duties in accordance with healthcare environmental cleaning procedures and hospital objectives. Uses cleaning equipment, including automatic floor machines, commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment, tools, chemicals and supplies. Dust mop and wet mop floors. Scrubs and buffs floors with rotary and other machines. Vacuums and cleans carpets with carpet extraction machines. Moves furniture for periodic floor cleaning tasks. Assists in cleaning emergency spills observed or as requested. Clean and maintains assigned equipment and has repairs made when needed. Reports facility defects in equipment, furniture, building, and fixtures when observed. Performs other duties as assigned.

General Requirements:

Ø Must wear uniform and comply with all departmental work rules.

Ø Must have knowledge of all department policies and procedures.

Ø Must be willing to assist in the event of an emergency at the facility.

Ø Will receive training in disaster preparedness and must be prepared to respond.

Ø Adequate written and oral English language skills are required.


Ø Must be able to take directions and carry out all assignments.

Ø Must demonstrate ability to perform assigned duties without constant supervision.


Ø Must be available all shifts, 24 hours / 7 day per week operations.

Must perform duties in a manner that assures confidentiality, privacy, dignity and safety of patients, visitors, and staff at all times.
