Sunbelt Asphalt Surfaces, Inc. is seeking an experienced Skid Steer Operator to join our Operations team. If you are an experienced, motivated, and skilled individual, we would like to meet you! Job Description: The machine operator will operate equipment and will be responsible for operating and maintaining a skid steer loader to move materials, load and unload trucks, and assist with various construction or landscaping projects. Job Duties: Operate skid steer loader to move materials, such as dirt, gravel, sand, or debris. Load and unload trucks with the skid steer loader. Assist with construction or landscaping projects by moving materials, digging, grading, and leveling. Perform routine maintenance on the skid steer loader, such as checking fluids, replacing filters, and lubricating parts. Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and ensure project deadlines are met. Occasionally shovel dirt, gravel, and asphalt. General clean up around job site. Check and maintain grade stakes. Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure the machine is working properly. Notify department lead of any potential safety or equipment issues immediately. Follow processes and procedures correctly. Wear appropriate clothing, shoes, and personal protective equipment. All other duties as assigned or required. Experience & Knowledge: The ideal candidate should have one year of experience in operating small equipment. The ability to judge distances and spatial relationships. The ability to see details at a distance and close range. The ability to quickly respond to signals when they appear. The ability to time movements in anticipation of changes in speed or direction. Must have the ability to acquire understanding and absorb new information quickly. Must be detail-oriented and thorough in completing work tasks. Must have the ability to work in a team setting and establish collaborative peer relationships. Must be able to detect problems, errors, and non-compliance against requirements. Must have the ability to plan, organize, and schedule work efficiently. Must maintain poise and composure under pressure. Must adapt quickly to changing priorities or work demands. Must communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms. Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable. Physical Activity/Demand: Lifting and carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 50lbs (+-50%) of the time. Standing/walking/climbing (+-50%) of the time. Occasional sitting for extended periods (+-50%) of the time. Frequent reaching/handling/feeling (+-70%) of the time. Frequent use of finger dexterity (+70%) of the time. Mental or Visual Demand: Frequent mental or visual attention required, including depth perception and field of vision. Responsibility for Equipment or Process: Responsible for preventing damage to equipment due to improper operation. Responsibility for Material or Product: Responsible for preventing damage to material during operation. Responsibility for Safety of Others/Work of Others: Normal care required in operating equipment to prevent injury to others. Responsible for own work. Working Conditions: The noise level is moderate to high.
