Psychiatric Technician

Schedule:
Day/Evening/Night Rotating Shift Schedule
Holidays, Weekends, On-Call, and Callback per unit needs
36 hours per week (may consider 48)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, team-oriented Psychiatric Technician to provide direct care and clinical support to inpatient psychiatric patients. The Psych Tech plays an essential role in promoting emotional stability, safety, and well-being while assisting with daily living activities and psychiatric rehabilitation under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care and participate in the delivery of psychiatric and rehabilitative services
• Support patients with daily living and therapeutic activities in accordance with treatment plans
• Communicate effectively with patients and multidisciplinary team members
• Observe, report, and document patient behaviors and condition changes to the RN
• Participate in patient rounds, group therapy, and team meetings as assigned
• Ensure a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for patients

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Psychiatric Technician
• Education: Associate’s Degree in Psychology or Sociology (required)
• Certification: BLS (American Heart Association only, required)
