About the Role
The Company is seeking a College and Career Coach to provide essential services that align with the Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) initiative. The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing college awareness and readiness among middle and high school students in the Norristown Area School District. This includes facilitating a range of GEAR UP activities such as counseling, mentoring, tutoring, and financial literacy workshops. The role also involves coordinating and collaborating with teachers, school staff, and GEAR UP partners to deliver services and resources to the student cohort. Direct student services, data collection, and tracking, as well as attending required meetings and training, are integral to the position. Applicants for the College and Career Coach position at the company should possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred. The role requires the ability to be flexible, meet deadlines, and multitask, as well as strong client relationship-building, communication, organizational, and detail-oriented skills. The coach will be expected to provide direct academic instruction, guidance, and counseling, and to maintain high standards of professional practice. The position is full-time and involves travel to various school sites, colleges, and corporations for student activities.
