About the Role LHH is seeking a
Clerk I to join our team and provide critical support in managing records and documentation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in healthcare administration and transition into a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities - Document Management: Organize and file materials, correspondence, and records using alpha, numeric, date, subject, or color-coded systems.
- Scanning & Indexing: Prepare documents for scanning, operate scanning equipment, and ensure accurate indexing for retrieval.
- Chart Handling: Pick up charts from designated areas, transport them safely, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Quality Control: Verify scanned images for clarity and completeness, correct errors promptly, and follow established protocols.
- Equipment Operation: Use office equipment such as photocopiers, fax machines, and binding machines to support daily tasks.
- Data Entry & Tracking: Maintain logs and spreadsheets, ensuring accurate record-keeping in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA and privacy standards when handling sensitive information.
- Physical Activity: Walk long distances within the facility and lift charts or files as needed.
Qualifications - Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 0-1 year in an office or records management environment
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word; familiarity with scanning systems and EPIC preferred
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and professional phone/email etiquette
