Trident Consulting is seeking a Senior Blockchain Engineer for a client that is a global leader in business and technology services. Location: Fully onsite in Irvine, CA or Mountain View, CA (some flexibility). Duration: 3-6 months CTH. Pay Rate: $70‑85/hr on C2C depending on experience. Work Authorization: Candidate must not require visa sponsorship. Responsibilities Go-to Blockchain expert, focusing on design, development, and maintenance of blockchain protocols, smart contracts, and distributed systems. 70% coding, 30% cross-functional collaboration; provide guidance to Product Managers and Marketing teams on feasibility. Lead new product design with Marketing, including tokenized payment systems and identity verification flows. Meet with end customers (approximately 5 hours/week). Collaborate with the China team, with flexible start times. Implement smart contracts for token utility, payments, and governance. Ensure security, scalability, and efficiency through rigorous testing and best practices. Integrate biometric verification (Face Scan) and payment flows (BioPay) into blockchain applications. Align blockchain development with roadmap and user needs in collaboration with Product, Engineering, and QA teams. Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices for blockchain development within AC Tech. Stay current on emerging trends in Web3, DeFi, RWA tokenization, and decentralized identity to drive innovation. Top Requirements Layer 2 Blockchain experience. Proficiency in Java (any version) and Solidity. Experience with Ethereum, Solana, or other major blockchain platforms. Strong understanding of smart contract security, cryptography, and distributed systems. 5+ years of blockchain development experience (protocols, dApps, Layer 1/Layer 2, or DeFi/Web3). Proven track record of delivering production‑grade blockchain systems. Excellent problem‑solving, collaboration, and communication skills. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cryptography, or a related technical field. Nice to Have Proficiency in Go. Experience in fintech, identity verification, or biometric systems.
