Our client, a leading full-service California law firm, is actively recruiting for a career-oriented Patent Associate to join their established and expanding IP practice in Irvine. We are seeking attorneys with 3+ years of experience in intellectual property transactions. Academic background from a top law school and comparable firm experience will play a factor in consideration. Core responsibilities include:

• Draft and prosecute patent and trademark applications before the USPTO
• Structure and negotiate complex IP licensing agreements, technology transfers, and joint development agreements
• Draft and negotiate software licenses, SaaS agreements, and open-source compliance strategies
• Manage IP aspects of M&A transactions, including due diligence and post-closing integration
• Advise on patent, trademark, and copyright portfolio strategies and monetization
• Counsel clients on IP provisions in commercial agreements and strategic partnerships
• Support venture capital and private equity transactions with IP valuations and risk assessments
